In this masterclass, Dr Catherine Quinn from the University of Bradford and Dr Alex Hillman from Swansea University (then at Cardiff University) focus on conducting qualitative interviews with people with dementia and their carers or relatives. The masterclass provide tips on preparing for the interview and developing an interview protocol. It discusses useful strategies that can be used during the interview. The masterclass also proves some guidance on interpreting interviews.

In this masterclass, Rachael Litherland from Innovations in Dementia is joined by the IDEAL study PPI ALWAYs group member Keith Oliver, Dr Catherine Quinn from the University of Bradford and Dr Alex Hillman from Swansea University (then at Cardiff University) to discuss public and patient involvement (PPI) in research. The masterclasses reflects on the value of PPI in research from the perspective of both advisory group members and the researchers. The masterclass contains recommendations for good practice when planning or using PPI in research.
